Saving the Non-Standard Strawberries ‘Ama Queen’: Products Developed by Ohno Seminar Students Go on Sale

Students of the Ohno Seminar, Global Business Course, School of Economics and Management, University of Hyogo invented a drink and bread using non-standard Ama Queen Strawberries produced in Hyogo Prefecture. The students presented their creations to Hankyu DELICA, which operates FREDS CAFE, and the decision was made to commercialize the two products, which were sold at cafes in Hyogo Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture from August.
 According to Associate Professor Yoko Ohno, who was in charge of the project, “We aim to connect with local industries and companies so that the students can learn and the companies can benefit in some way. We hope to help farmers who have no choice but to dispose of their strawberries, even if only a little.
