Research Field: This area of research is concerned with the international activities of companies. There are two central research questions. The first is to answer the question of why companies internationalize. The answer to this question has changed over time. The size of the company also changes the answer to this question. The second question is to find out what methods companies can use to manage successfully overseas. There are companies that do well in Japan but not overseas, and the reason for this is explored. These two issues are the main areas of research, but there are various studies being conducted on the international activities of companies.

Research Topic: In recent years, I have been researching the concept of flexible replication. Companies succeed in various ways. The success of a company brings with it a set of rules for success. These rules for success are also used when expanding overseas. However, because the environment is always different, these rules for success cannot always be used. I am researching how companies change the rules for success and achieve internationalization.
