- Research Field
- My area of expertise is sociology. In an academic program related to business and management, studying phenomena such as migration, corporate culture, employment patterns, and relations between the genders helps students to understand individual experiences in the context of society. In my teaching, I combine an approach to understanding theoretical perspectives with fieldwork and project-based learning.
- Research Topic
- My research focuses on Japanese society and can be divided into two areas. I am interested in the analysis of consumption. My current research addresses the governmental food education campaign in Japan and the relationship between food and identity, and the role of food, conviviality and resilience in rural areas in Japan. Another interest is the Japanese workplace with an emphasis on gender inequality, work-life balance and employment patterns.
